Job description:
Purchase Engineer/ Asst Manager will drive improvement in the supply base by reducing PPM's , Improving process and tooling capability and ensuring timely project completions. Ensure the supply base understands and is in compliance with JCBPPI requirements. Understand end use of the supplied product and generate VA/VE opportunities using lean methods to remove waste. Communicate regularly with Quality Assurance manager. The engineer has no direct reports but has lateral relationships with the following :
Commodity Managers
Quality Engineers
Product Engineers
Design Engineers
Program ManagersProgram Management for Genset Production
Ensure effective function of cost saving Department.
Supplier establishment & handover (after right quality & quantity development) to Production Planning & Control Department for routine scheduling and monitoring.
Resolving supplier level concerns beyond the control of materials Manager post-escalation as per the matrix.
Skills Required are : Knowledge of Genset parts , production Process .Skills of planning , Organizing ,SAP Knowledge must , decision making , strong communication skill, Component development , System Knowledge
